Who is RSMB?

“As a small market research related company which holds personal information, we have to be sure our security and practices are up to current standards. While conducting one of our regular penetration tests, it came out in conversation that another company had had many failures the previous year but passed with flying colours this time round. I asked how they managed it and was given the name of PowerON.
We first made contact with PowerON in early 2020, and we were immediately impressed by their knowledge and enthusiasm. Not long after a program of work was put into place around the SmarT managed service to introduce standard PC builds, with patching and upgrading controlled centrally. This will go a long way in helping RSMB gain the Cyber Essentials+ security accreditation.

What did we do for them?
A hybrid Azure cloud was set up connecting our internal network with the Microsoft Cloud. We purchased laptops and Office 365 licenses for all members of staff and decided which software we’d like pre-loaded. PowerON configured Microsoft Intune to automatically configure the laptops at first sign-in, a little testing resulted in a few tweaks and then we were ready for rollout. Staff got used to the new laptops very quickly, as most were working from home on laptops of one sort or another due to the pandemic anyway.
The service from PowerON is very good, the helpdesk team is knowledgeable and reactive. We have defined rings for any changes Preview/Pilot/Production, enabling testing before company-wide rollout. We have regular meetings to discuss any issues that have arisen and give us a heads up on any changes coming down the line and possible implications for us e.g. Microsoft major OS releases.

PowerON have also been quickly reactive when security flaws have been uncovered, analysing and mitigating on our behalf. The ability to push the changes to the users’ machines saves a lot of headaches.
As a business we draw comfort from the fact that PowerON have got our back and we almost don’t need to worry about laptop security. Helpdesk functions have been eased considerably, especially useful during lockdown. Several of the major obstacles to the security accreditation have been removed.”
